Report calls on consumers to separate and recycle Christmas advent calendars

2021 12/07

The Divine Seriously Smooth Milk Chocolate advent calendar has been ranked the most eco-friendly advent calendar by SkipsAndBins.com.

The packaging material used to put advent calendars together has come under the spotlight due to the popularity of the products over Christmas and their plastic content.

The report urged consumers to separate plastic, cardboard, and foil and recycle the material where possible.

Third place went to the Nestlé Milkybar advent calendar, which supports farmers using the Nestlé cocoa plan, can be partially recycled, and has a similar carbon footprint to the Divine calendar.

The least eco-friendly advent calendar was Hershey`s Cookies `n` Creme and Reese`s Peanut Butter Miniatures, while Ferrero`s Kinder advent calendar did one spot better.
