Simply Cartons has recently launched EnviraMet, a new recyclable foil designed as a sustainable alternative to traditional metalised board.
EnviraMet removes the plastic laminate on metalised board and replaces it with a coating that allows cartons to be recycled in normal household recycling.
The company says unlike traditional metalised materials, there is no need to add white print, allowing for multiple metallic colours within a single printing pass, which in turn can give a competitive edge over hot foil stamping.
With numerous applications in mind for the cosmetics, fragrance, food & drink, horticulture, and health and beauty markets, EnviraMet will be produced inhouse following a £500,000 investment by Simply Cartons.
Craig Mather, chief executive, Simply Cartons, said the design brief for EnviraMet was to retain the benefits and luxurious appearance of metalized board whilst being fully recyclable.
[This meant the full range of traditional applications had to be achievable and at the same time be cost effective and easy for customers to make the switch. We`re delighted to launch EnviraMet and introduce another solution that empowers our customers to use sustainable products within their packaging range."
